New Bathroom Adaptation, Ilfracombe
We recently completed a bathroom adaptation in Ilfracombe, funded through a Disabled Facilities Grant from North Devon Council. Our solution was designed to directly address the challenges the resident was facing so they could continue living safely and comfortably in their own home.
Our customer, Mrs R, was experiencing increasing mobility challenges and found it difficult to access her bath safely. A level access shower was identified as the most practical and long-term solution to support her comfort, safety and independence.
At Home Solutions SW, we know that disability-related home improvements can feel overwhelming which is why we guide our customers through every step — including advice on Disabled Facilities Grants application process. Our disability service is always centred around the customer ensuring their needs come first.
Project Gallery
For this project we carried out:
- Full removal of the existing bathroom fixtures and fittings
- Floor alterations to achieve a true level access shower
- Installation of water-tight Altro safety flooring
- A new toilet basin and fully adjustable shower
- Half-height folding shower screens to support assisted or independent showering
- A folding shower seat for safer use and easier to clean
- All plumbing electrics tiling and finishing completed by our in-house team
The result is a safer more accessible bathroom tailored to Mrs R’s mobility needs and future wellbeing.
