New Bathroom Adaptation, Landkey
We were contacted by Mr and Mrs King to make changes to their bathroom in Landkey. We had to balance out the differing needs of the couple, Mr King wanted to keep the bath and Mrs King could not get in and out of the existing shower cubicle.
The resident, Mrs , had multiple mobility issues which was meaning that using the bathroom was becoming increasingly challenging. The existing shower was over the bath which meant that Mrs A was struggling to access either.
The existing bathroom consisted of a bath, wash hand basin, WC, shower cubicle and bidet. We left the bath as it was, but redesigned the rest of the bathroom, converting it to include a level access shower. We added wall panels throughout the bathroom as well new altro safety flooring. The wash hand basin was replaced by a concaved semi-pedestal wash hand basin which included easier use handles. The toilet was replaced with a Geberit AquaClean shower toilet with drop down rails placed each side. The original shower had a traditional raised shower try, this was replaced with a level access walk in shower with glass screen and floor to ceiling grab rail including a fold up padded shower seat and additional wall mounted grab rails. The shower itself was more flexible than the previous one, making showering easier.
Our team undertook all of the work themselves including the rip out, plumbing , electrics , flooring and tiling.
