Safe Level-Access Shower Room, Braunton
When Mrs R and her daughter visited the Home Solutions SW showroom after reading about us in the EX33 magazine, they needed urgent support. Following a recent hip operation with another planned, Mrs R was finding the family bathroom impossible to use safely. Their separate WC was the only available space to convert into an accessible level-access shower room, offering a safer daily routine and peace of mind for the whole family.
Risk Assessment & Smart Access Surveyor
During our free home assessment, our specialist identified key risks including restricted manoeuvring space, the inward-opening door and the absence of a suitable showering area. To improve emergency access and remove a major hazard, we re-hung the bathroom door to open outwards, ensuring help could be safely provided if Mrs R ever fell behind it. This kind of careful, practical risk assessment is essential for any mobility adaptation — especially in smaller rooms where every centimetre counts.
