Showers especially designed for the elderly and less able

If you are considering updating your bathroom, it’s worth noting that there are showers that have been specifically designed for the elderly and less able.

Mira Advance ATL Flex

The Mira Advance was the first shower in the UK with thermostatic control. This precise control ensures that whatever happens to the water temperature or pressure, the shower stays constant.

The shower also has enhanced safety features to protect the user at all times including a smooth slide bar which allows the user to change the height with just one hand. In fact the Mira Advance Flex is so safe it’s earned the BEAB Care mark and is also endorsed by the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB).

The shower features backlit LED buttons which makes it extremely easy to use, and it also has a 2m hose which means the showerhead can reach further. This gives the user much greater flexibility of use and is also ideal for those who need to use a shower seat.

Redring Selectronic

The Redring Selectronic has also been specially designed to make it safe and easy to use. The selectronic is pre-programmed to provide hot water at a comfortable and safe temperature which makes its ideal for children, the elderly and less able.

The shower features a large, easy to press button operation and audible feedback response to commands, which makes it extremely safe for the blind or partially sighted and, as a result, the shower is endorsed by the RNIB.

Both showers are available to view at Living Needs, 1 Mill Road, Barnstaple (near the football ground.) Our extensive showroom is open Monday-Friday from 9am – 5pm. Or call 01271 374600 for more details.
